Description

Elefilament with Mica is a new range of 3D Printer Filament PLA from 3D Print Works.

The Mica Filament range is the newest in our family!  We’ve added some Mica to the colours which gives your models a brighter and more luxurious finish.

Mica is a naturally occurring mineral which tends to form crystals.  It is one of the common crystals found in granite.  It can be produced in a flake form which we have added to our PLA filament.  Its effect is to brighten the coloured pigments, giving your model an extra sheen.

Our new range includes Purple Mica, Green Mica, Bronze Mica and Pewter Mica.

The Mica Filament Range comes in PLA and performs as well as normal PLA.  The temperature and other settings are the same as for Elefilament.  We recommend you read out Technical Data Sheet for more information.

For brighter models with a hint of luxury, why not try the new Mica Filament range?

PLA 1.75mm Elefilament from 3D Print Works is produced to the very highest standard and is suitable for printing in most desktop open filament 3D Printers such as Makerbot 2, Robox.  It is also suitable for home-made or kit machines such as RepRap. It is 1.75 mm in diameter and comes in a range of colours. It is supplied as a 1kg reel or a 750g Masterspool Refill.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a good material to start 3D printing with because it is easily handled by 3D printers.  It cools quickly, thus decreasing the likelihood of the object becoming warped.  It operates at temperatures between 180 and 220 °C. Colours may vary slightly from the colours shown in the pictures.

Packaging & Storage

Each reel of PLA 1.75mm Elefilament is enclosed in a bag with silica gel to absorb moisture and normally sent to you in a thick plastic bag.  Orders for larger quantities are sent in a box.  As moisture can affect the quality of the filament, we recommend you store your reel in the sealable bag with the gel when not in use.
