The lovable tale of Winne the Pooh has captured the imagination of many since its release in 1928. We decided to celebrate this wonderful bear using 3D printing technology on national Winnie the Pooh day. This loveable bear would go onto become the most famous bear in fictional literacy history. The author of this magnificent tale A.A Milne was born on the 18th of January 1982 and so on this day each year we celebrate National Winnie the Pooh day.
We at 3D Print works thought about all the different ways to celebrate Winnie the Pooh day and how we could incorporate this into 3D printing. First of all, we looked at the past and how people celebrated this lovely and heart melting character. Most, if not all, of you will be familiar with the game Pooh sticks.. No?
Well let me tell you. In the fictional novel Winne the Pooh plays a game of Pooh Sticks with his good friend Christopher Robin. A fantastic game I played when I was younger and still play to this day. Each competitor selects a stick of their choice, they then stand at one side of a bridge and at the same time drop their ‘Pooh Sticks’. The competitors then run to the other side of the bridge downstream to see who’s made it under the bridge first! A fantastic game which you could play to celebrate Winne the Pooh Day.
At 3D Print Works we thought of different ways of using 3D printing to celebrate this fantastic day. Using our Sunny Yellow PLA filament, we thought it was a perfect representation for our very own Pooh. If you would like to make your own using our filament, follow this LINK to our website. Here is the Pooh we printed below.
Why not do something to celebrate this character we all know and love this 18th of January. 😊
