A great 3D printed accessory for your MakerBot Replicator 2 and 2X.
We have designed two 3D printed parts for the Makerbot Replicator 2 and 2X. The reel adapters, which are available in two sizes, allow you to use filament reels with a centre diameter of 15mm or 35mm.
Once you have assembled the adapters they are really easy to install as they simply clip on to the back of the machine. The reel adapters print in two parts (a backing plate and spigot). We recommend that the backing plates are printed on their side using a raft. ABS or PLA can be used. Use superglue to bond the backing plate to the spigot. A countersunk M3 screw and nut could be used through the holes.
